IRU Academy’s role in combatting road death and injury, and the benefits of improved safety to transport efficiency, were highlights at recent Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) meetings in Tehran.
Reinforcing the importance of road safety to commercial road transport operations, IRU Academy was recognised for its work in setting international best practices and a road transport professional qualification framework for the industry.
IRU was also commended for its commitment to the UN Decade of Actions on Road – a landmark resolution setting road safety goals for the current decade.
The presentations were part of the 8th Meeting of the Road Committee (RC) of ECO’s Transit Transport Coordination Council in Tehran. Read more
