IRU kicks off new dialogue on intermodal transport

The IRU launched a new dialogue on intermodal transport at an informal workshop aimed to encourage an exchange of views with representatives from other transport modes and with clients on intermodal cooperation, to address how road freight transport can better contribute to more successful intermodal transport systems.

The IRU highlighted that a greener and more efficient EU freight transport system cannot be achieved without efforts from all modes to improve intermodal interaction and increase the attractiveness to businesses seeking intermodal options for transport operations. The IRU reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a common ground with partner organisations to identify potential areas for further constructive cooperation with other modes.
