North America's road transportation industry welcomes the United States removing its Covid-19 vaccine mandate for foreign truck drivers, following lobbying by IRU members.
Starting 12 May 2023, the Department of Homeland Security will no longer require foreign travellers entering the United States via land ports of entry and ferry terminals to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
This means that Canadian and Mexican truck drivers who are unvaccinated can once again enter the United States.
IRU member the American Trucking Associations (ATA) has been pushing the Biden administration to drop its Covid-19 vaccine requirement for months. Read more
