MoU on the Facilitation of the Road Transport of Goods is further evidence of the efforts made by these countries to drive trade.

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) has welcomed its 13th member, the Republic of North Macedonia, in a move towards greater regional cooperation.

Extending BSEC’s territory in southern Europe will breathe new life into its multilateral cooperation initiatives. Since its establishment in 1992, BSEC and its member states have been taking steps to facilitate trade and improve transport links.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Facilitation of the Road Transport of Goods in the BSEC Region is further evidence of the efforts made by these countries to drive trade. The MoU aims to open the road goods transport market through the BSEC permit system, with simplified customs and border crossing procedures.

IRU will support its member in North Macedonia, AMERIT, in urging its government to sign the MoU and join the BSEC permit system to facilitate trade and transit by road. Read more
