Forces unite along China-Europe-China rail route

Russia and Uzbekistan intends to cooperate in the railway sector due to a 2% increase in foreign trade freight traffic between the two countries in 2018. The overall tonnage amounted to 6.8 million t that year.

Some 63% of transit containers were hauled by Russian Railways (RZD) in the east-west direction, 34% more compared to 2017.

The two parties also discussed their joint participation in railway infrastructure projects aimed at the development of transit freight transport, including goods moving between China and Europe and vice versa. Read more
