Tokyo – Daimler Truck AG’s (“Daimler Truck”) subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (“FUSO”) is exhibiting various products and services at JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW (“JMS”) from October 28th to November 5th. The exhibition, successor of the biennial “Tokyo Motor Show”, is hosted by Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association at Tokyo Big Sight exhibition grounds.
Creating a brighter future with all who keep the world moving
FUSO’s booth, created with the slogan “Future Together”, refers to the brand’s contribution to a sustainable society. The collaborative and creative aspect of the tagline is reflected in a building-block inspired design motif und booth design. FUSO’s highlight at JMS is the unveil of the fully remodelled heavy-duty Super Great truck. FUSO’s Next Generation eCanter will be displayed with tipper body with power take-off device (ePTO) and garbage truck application. Furthermore, FUSO and Ample Inc. will showcase the latest eCanter model with a swappable battery module and a swapping station. On the service side, FUSO is launching new eMobility solutions with FUSO Green Lease, a leasing program exclusively for the eCanter in Japan and Truckonnect*, a telematics service for vehicle management and monitoring for FUSO products.
The new FUSO Super Great: High performance combined with efficiency and state-of-the-art safety features
FUSO’s new Super Great truck celebrates its world premiere at JMS and is joining the Daimler Truck heavy-duty truck family as a fully remodelled truck after its launch in 2017. The new Super Great is sharing the platform with Daimler Truck heavy-duty trucks and is equipped with the 6R30 high-performance 12.8L engine, which is based on the OM471 engine and produced in the Daimler Truck plant in Mannheim, Germany.
The new 6R30 engine improves thermal efficiency by increasing combustion pressure through increased compression ratio and turbo modification. Two turbochargers are configured to match the engine's power output, resulting in an increase in torque, particularly at lower speeds. Optimizations have been made to better accommodate earlier shifting at lower speeds. These improvements to the combustion system, as well as the reduction of driving resistance and tuning of various engine parts, have resulted in an even better fuel economy.
The high torque of the large-capacity engine provides ample traction on long hills and excellent response during acceleration, leading to improved driving comfort. The 6R30 engine boasts a higher NOx (nitrous oxide) purification rate with the BlueTec®** system in exhaust aftertreatment, reducing the consumption of AdBlue®*** (urea water) and contributing to lower running costs in vehicle operation.
