Ride-sharing platform for cargo squeezes the air out of trucks and reduces emissions.
In Europe, trucks that are described as fully loaded actually have as much as 40% of their storage capacity unutilised. This is set to change with a space pooling platform for cargo that is being created by the German company Colo 21.
The developer and operator of internet solutions for the transport industry has established an electronic site which can be used by its members – currently 900 forwarding companies from across Europe – to offer their free capacities. Companies and private parties are also able to book available truck space for their goods. Read more
