China services set to double

Container trains operated by DB Cargo have been running on the historic Silk Road between Europe and Asia since 2011. Now the German rail service provider is increasing its shareholding in the specialised Trans-Eurasia Logistics to 60%.

 

According to DB Cargo, this step will provide good opportunities to augment services to/from Asia, and even double them in the next two to three years. Demand for railfreight services between China and Europe is growing in various sectors, including the automobile industry. Read more
