Mobile pallet could generate 600,000 of convenience store staff hours savings

The use of a pre-filled mobile pallet display, known as a ‘Dolly’, in convenience stores could result in an additional 600,000 hours of labour on shop floors every year, according to CHEP UK and Ireland.

 

CHEP said that the small, wheeled quarter pallet display would reduce staff hours currently tied-up in ‘pack-by-pack’ display replenishment or using equipment, like pump-trucks, to manoeuvre stock around the shop floor.

 

Sean Field, store solutions category manager CHEP UK & Ireland, said: “The consumer shift towards ‘little and often’ shops put unprecedented pressure on convenience stores. Limited space in-store for full-size cages, minimising costs and staff overheads, and keeping promotional products on display throughout the day are all challenges that all levels of management must grapple with.” Read more
