British Hauliers Permitted to Continue as Normal Despite Covid-19 Ruling.
UK – SPAIN – Hauliers concerned about returning from Spain after the UK government slapped a 14 day quarantine order on travellers coming in from any part of the country yesterday have no need to worry. Additionally there was confirmation that HGVs can hit the road a little cheaper for the next year.
The Road Haulage Association (RHA) confirmed today that the status of drivers returning from Spain remains exempt provided their journey is in a freight vehicle, and they’re carrying community authorisation, consignment note, and Covid movement documents.
Everyone else coming back into the UK, bar a very few other limited exceptions, will need to complete the UK Passenger Contact Locator Form and self-isolate for 14 days, and the authorities reserve the right to track and trace returnees to ensure the rules are being followed. Read more
