Hauliers and forwarding agencies that regularly use ROLA connections on the Brenner axis are entitled to further reductions.
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group is reducing its prices for the Rolling Road (ROLA) through the Brenner axis. The basic price for trucks weighing less than 40.5 tonnes is discounted, and there is a special price reduction for roundtrips. The reduced tarrifs will aply from 1 October and are a means to encourage a further shift from road to rail.
Regardless of the number of trips and connections they book, all ROLA customers benefit from the basic price reductions, the operator explains. The basic price comes with a 9 euros discount. Hauliers and forwarding agencies that regularly use ROLA connections on the Brenner axis are entitled to further reductions. These will be granted from eight roundtrips per calendar month and will apply from the very first round trip, ranging between 6 to 9 euros discount. “So, the more ROLA is used, the higher the discount will be.
Incentive scheme
“The new price system will provide for an extensive incentive scheme to shift more trucks on the Brenner axis to rail. From 1 October, it will be possible to book a trip through Tyrol from 82 euros. These price reductions are a huge step towards bringing ROLA more on a par with road transport prices and ROLA trips represent considerable cost savings for hauliers”, the company says. Read more
