IRU and ATA leaders meet on pressing issues

The “3 Ds” facing our industry – driver shortages, decarbonisation and digitalisation – top this year’s agenda for IRU and the American Trucking Associations (ATA).


IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto and ATA President and CEO Chris Spear met yesterday in Geneva to discuss best practices and innovative solutions to pressing issues facing the trucking industry.

 

The challenges of driver shortages, decarbonisation and digitalisation are the daily reality of transport companies worldwide, while the solutions are often regional and based on national contexts.

 

Umberto de Pretto and Chris Spear explored avenues to work even closer together to help transport operators streamline procedures with digitalisation, adopt regional solutions to decarbonisation, and meet transport service demands amid the shortage of drivers.

 

They highlighted the sharing of best practices globally and within each region as key to overcoming the challenges – but also capitalising on the opportunities – presented by the “3 Ds”. Read more
