The market for heavy goods vehicles fell 2.6 per cent last year, with 45,045 trucks registered, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders.
Demand for rigid vehicles fell five per cent in the year, with a 6.7 per cent decrease in registrations of >16T vehicles.
However, demand for artic vehicles rose slightly steady, finishing the year up 0.8 per cent at 19,510 units. Tractors continued to be the most popular choice, accounting for 43.1 per cent of the market, while dropside trucks also boosted their share, rising 9.2 per cent. Read more
